The Community Gives Back

Meaford Rotary Club Hosts on-line Cider Tasting and Food Pairing Fundraiser

June 28, 2021

The Meaford Rotary Club “Perfect Pairing” event featured local ciders and foods that were “made for each other”.  The online event was a smashing success and helped to raise $3,356.54 for the Rotary Club’s pledge of $50K to support Mental Health Care in our community.

A big thank you to Duxbury, Windswept, Grey and Gold and Ardiel Cideries for helping to make this a tasty and slightly “intoxicating” evening filled with information and tasty combinations of cider and foods.

A special thanks also to TC energy for stepping forward with a $2500 donation.

Little also noted that TC Energy supports mental health programmes that directly benefit soldiers and their families through their ongoing annual sponsorship of the Wounded Warriors Canada annual Ride for Mental Health, scheduled again this year for August 22nd.

Kinsmen Club’s Winter Escape Lottery Raises $2,000

March 7, 2021

The Kinsmen Club of Meaford were able to donate $2,000 to the Meaford Hospital Foundation from the proceeds of their Winter Escape Lottery. With the strong support of their sponsors, a Sleigh Ride package for up to 12 people was donated by Jack Lambe. The wooden sleigh was made and donated by Tony Weldrick of T Squared, and a sleigh full of munchies and treats was provided by Bill’s ValuMart.

The club sold 800 tickets with local merchants such as The Kitchen, Clear Choice Pools and Spas and Meaford Chamber of Commerce acting as sales points. They also held sales drives at Bill’s ValuMart on several occasions and the sleigh was on display at the store through most of the time of the lottery. The proceeds were divided evenly between the Meaford Hospital Fund and Safe N Sound.

Many thanks to the Kinsmen Club of Meaford for their continued support of our Meaford hospital and our Foundation.
