2026 Hockey Hits Cancer
Hockey Hits Cancer Tournament Returns for Its 11th Year
The Hockey Hits Cancer Tournament is returning to the Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre for its 11th year, taking place March 20–22, 2026. This beloved community event—organized each year by the Fleming family and friends—brings players, families, and supporters together in the spirit of teamwork, generosity, and local impact, all while having fun!
All proceeds from the tournament will support the refurbishment and upgrades to the Palliative Care Room at Brightshores Meaford Hospital. This important project will help ensure patients and families have a warm, comfortable, and dignified space during some of life’s most difficult moments.
Your Donation Will Go Twice as Far
This year, an anonymous donor has generously committed to matching all donations up to $2,500. That means every dollar you give becomes two—doubling your impact on compassionate care close to home.
Whether you’re cheering from the stands, lacing up your skates, or supporting from afar, your contribution helps strengthen care for our community when it matters most.
How You Can Help
- Make a donation in support of the tournament
- Share the event with friends, family, and teammates
- Come out to enjoy a great weekend of hockey and community spirit
Together, we can make a meaningful difference for patients and families in our region. This is community supporting community!

Most Successful Tournament Yet!
March 2025
The much-anticipated Hockey Hits Cancer Tournament held March 21-23, 2025 in Meaford was a resounding success! Over 20 teams participated to raise funds for the Meaford Hospital Foundation. This year’s event raised over $10,000 for the palliative care room at the Meaford Hospital, allowing patients and families to receive compassionate care in a comfortable and dignified setting.
Tournament organizer, Mackenzie Fleming, created this event in memory of his Grandparents Anne and Alex Fleming, two extraordinary people who left a mark on their grandchildren, children and the Meaford community. In the 10 years of running this event, Hockey Hits Cancer has successfully raised more than $70,000 for local charities.
This year’s tournament was the most successful one yet, with an outpouring of community support. Thank you to everyone who played in the Tournament and to everyone who came out to watch and cheer on the players and who purchased raffle tickets, West Jet Gift of Flight Tickets and 50/50 tickets!
