Having state-of-the-art equipment allows doctors, nurses and technical staff to provide critical care to the patients of our hospital.

We are excited to start raising funds for a new piece of equipment for Brightshores Meaford Hospital, the C-Arm!!

This digital imaging machine will be used in the Orthopedic Surgery Clinic. A C-Arm provides real-time, high-definition imaging that will guide our surgeons, helping to ensure precision and bolster patient safety during complex procedures.

The C Arm is a critical piece of equipment for procedures, specifically surgeries that require incredible image clarity in both 2D and 3D.

This equipment provides a window into the human body, offering detailed and dynamic images that aid medical professionals in diagnosing and treating patients. They significantly contribute to patient care thanks to the versatility and real-time imaging they enable.

What sets a C-arm apart is its mobility. The C-shaped arm can swivel around the patient, capturing images from multiple angles without moving the patient. This feature provides real-time, 2D X-ray images during procedures that require continuous monitoring and precision.

It is a non-invasive machine meaning it has no effect or links to radiation exposure to the human body, making it a better and safe option in pre and post-screening procedures. The device is also used on rare occasions to provide clear images of broken bones during an average dislocation in places where you cannot insert a typical X-ray machine
